Twitter is a great social media site that anyone can use to share thoughts and ideas or to just surf the web in your free time. Stay updated on post of those who you follow and share content that you like. social media keeps growing and it is getting more and more popular. Using any social as a professional tool is a great way to get your name out there and especially twitter since its one of the most popular sites. The more you tweet and share interesting content the more followers you gain and be able to become one of those twitter pages that share certain thoughts and content. You have to get comfortable and post quality tweets to get the audience you are aiming for when using twitter professionally.

Also, jobs and  schools now look up your name on social media and get an overview of who you are and what your interests are. Therefore, one must be careful when trying to use social media as a professional page. Don’t be stupid and post reckless and careless pictures of yourselves at parties or doing something illegal. Posting a picture of you blacked out at a party on a school night is no where near professional. Whatever you do, keep your personal life separate from your applicants and social medias. Applying at a job and not expecting them to look up your name and see you blacked out by a bush with inappropriate drawings on your face is not a good look for you and will most likely not get a call back.

To be as professional as you can, you have to be organized and post things online that are helpful and accessible for people. Connecting with peers and others on social media help you to expand your knowledge.By interacting with others leads to plenty of new discoveries you might’ve never thought of on your own and  you start to question things differently. Having someone to bounce similar ideas off of and different perspectives on the same issue will lead to different conclusions that help you and the person interacting with. Social media is a great tool to connect with others on any topic and possibly come to different conclusions and that is part of the learning process. Is by sharing with others and taking the material and making it your own.

Organization is one of the major factors to a professional site. Using the site Diigo, a powerful collaborative social bookmarking tool to keep your thoughts in order. Learning how to organize your thoughts and ideas to share with others will lead to greater and more interesting posts.

Overall, social media is a great tool to use to get your name out there and seek for the profession you want. Do not expose too much of your private life on any social media source. Keep it nice and interesting, if you are looking to get in any job or school. Stay connected with the world and stay updated on what is going on around you. Knowledge will lead to many great paths and interacting with others will lead you to different point of views. It would ultimately lead to many with similar ideas and would be interested in what you share.
